Self-assessment

When thinking of information technology, the first thing that comes to my mind is a lab with so many computers connected through a network and share the same database. How that network is established and what it really means are things that I never needed or tried to deeply understand. I am a regular user of technology and enjoy the quick and convenient communication methods that it offers us. My main usage of technology is limited to e-mailing, searching databases, chatting, and limited shopping.

So when I registered for this class, I hoped it is going to be my real first attempt to overcome unrealistic fear in dealing with more complex and sophisticated technologies and electronic communication systems . I also see it as a chance to update my knowledge and learn about the opportunities of better usages of technology in an organizational setting and how to use that knowledge to improve the organization's over all performance. I also hope to come out of this class being able to understand and identify with the different technological terminologies used in an organizational setting.
